Local Beaches 

The nearest beach is Cwm Colhuw or Llantwit Major beach, and is about a 20 minute walk from Acorn Campsite. This beach is a mainly rocky beach with sandy sections.  Fantastic beach for Rock Pooling and Sand Castle building.

 

This beach has dog friendly areas and dog ban areas during summer months.

There are a number of beautiful beaches all within a short drive or cycle from Acorn Campsite.

Grab you buckets and spades and visit Ogmore, Southerdown or Barry Island.  

Or go on a hunt for hundreds of years old fossils at Nash Point, Summerhouse Point or Porthkerry

Please take care when spending time on any of the beautiful beaches in the area. Be aware of the tides as they can catch you out quickly.
